The down and dirty guide to get "skinning" more quickly!

  • One of the most frustrating things about all of the cool places on the Internet is that a lot of them don't tell you how to use their site. Like many things in life they make you to figure out. That may be fine for some people, but for people like us, sometimes you need a "How To" guide so you don't waste a lot of just trying to get started. We figured it might be easier to put it all down in an easy to read document so you can get started earning some precious "Skins" more quickly.

Signing up:

  • All you have to do is complete the form. Once you are done, you'll be emailed an activation link. Click it and your account is active. Now the fun begins!!!

Selling stuff and earning Skins:


  • One of the best parts about SkinMe5.com is you can sell or do just about anything you want to for $5. Everything being sold is subject to our terms and conditions, but really, you can get creative. Once you have logged into your SkinMe5 account,its time to start earning some Skins and the first step in doing that will is to Create a "Deal".

    To add a "Deal" onto the site, simply follow these easy steps: -Click the link at the top on the menu that says "Seller" -In the drop down, click on "My Deals" -Now you will see a button on that screen that says "Add New Deal". Click on it.




    Here is the part you want to really think about for a minute considering it will be visible to all members and effect whether they interested in your “Deal”. Fill in the form with what you are providing for $5.00. Then choose the category your deal with show up under that best describes what you are offering.



    Your Deal will show up under this category.

    Next, you will need to describe what your “Deal” entails, so people can know what you are offering. The more details the better. You need a minimum of 50 characters in this section, and a max of 450.




    Provide a summary of the instructions you will need from anyone buying this “Deal” from you, such as whether or not you need their company name for a logo being created, or a copy of a picture that you are going to photo shop for them. Again, you need a minimum of 50 characters and a max of 450.



    Now you need to add "tags" or keywords that describe what you are selling. -Complete the drop down that shows the Maximum Number of Days it will take you to complete your Deal for your customer.


     Finally, you can add an image for what you are providing and also have the option of providing a link for a video clip if desired. It can be of anything that would be relevant to what you are selling. Remember, the better the image or video, and the more closely tied to what you are trying to sell, the better chance for success. You can add more than one if you like, but you need to add at least one.




    Now hit the Save button. VOILA!!!  You now have a “Deal” ready for people to start buying. Cha-Ching!

    Now you need to know what happens when you make a sale. If someone likes what you are offering, they can either contact you through the Contact Poster button, or simply place an order through the Apply Now button

  • If they decide to contact you, you will receive a Notification via your Skinme5 Inbox. At that point, you are able to communicate with them from your Inbox and answer any questions they may have prior to placing the order. If they simply place an Order, you will receive a notification in your Inbox that you have a sale pending.



    You will also be able to view any pending orders by going to the Seller Tab on the menu and then clicking on My Sales in the drop down.



    This takes you to screen that shows you all of your Orders, with the Buyers username, the current status and when it is due.



     

Another Cool Feature For Sellers:

  • As a Seller, one of the coolest features on the site is your ability to view Requests from other members. On Skinme5, Buyers who know what they want, but may not be able to find it are able to Add Requests, which are viewable from the Home page under the Things I need for 5$.




    You can view what people are looking for on that tab and determine if you can fulfill any Requests. It's pretty simple, and works basically the same as a Deal. Once you find a Request you want to fulfill, you are able to contact the person who added the request. If it's a good fit they can then place the order through your SkinMe5 account.

    Pretty simple, and a great way to actively look for leads!!!

How do I BUY stuff on this site:

  • Every Deal offered on this site is available to you after signup. Buyers are able to scan through what is being sold on the site in a few ways.

    First, you can go to the Home page and review all the Deals being offered.




    Second, you can review Deals by Category.




    Third, you can look through our database using the Search feature.




    Once you locate a desired Deal you can either contact the Seller by using our message service, clicking on the Contact Seller Envelope button, or you can place an order by simply clicking on the Apply Nowbutton.

    Once you place an order, you are directed to a payment page with various payment options including PayPal, Paxum, Dwolla (a mobile solution) and any funds you may have acquired through your SkinMe5 account.



    If you want to use a credit card, you can do that by using the PayPal option as well. After submitting the Order $5  will be deducted from your account and held by SkinMe5 until the Order is completed by the Seller and you have Confirmed the receipt. If you receive and incorrect order, and you cannot resolve it with the Seller, you are always able to dispute the charge which adds a level of comfort to both Buyers and Sellers alike. If you receive your order, but don't confirm or dispute within 72 hours, the order is automatically confirmed.

Don't see what you want, but need something specific???:

  • Here is a cool twist on what we offer on SkinMe5. If you don't see what you want, you can create your own Request, which will be viewable by everyone on SkinMe5. Requests are searchable by the entire community, can be seen on the Home page, and additionally under specific Category. Go to the Buyer tab on the menu, and in the drop down, click on ADD NEW REQUEST.



    Click that button and you will be directed to a screen where you can input EXACTLY what you are looking for. Remember, be a descriptive about what you are looking for so people who are reviewing requests are able to complete your order quicker and more professionally.
